Associate Consultant – Sustainable Agriculture & Seeds System

Dev-Afrique is seeking an Associate Consultant to join our Sustainable Agriculture and Seeds System team. The Associate Consultant will support the team in developing and implementing strategies for sustainable agriculture and seed systems across Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Conduct research and analysis of seed systems and regenerative agriculture practices to inform and develop innovative solutions for our clients
- Support the design and implementation of agricultural and seed system projects, including capacity building and stakeholder engagement
- Collaborate with team members to develop technical reports, presentations, and other communication materials for clients and stakeholders
- Participate in the development of new business opportunities, including proposal development and client engagement
- Keep up-to-date with latest trends and developments in sustainable agriculture and seed systems, and contribute to the development of the team’s knowledge and expertise
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agronomy, agribusiness, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in sustainable agriculture and seed systems, including experience working on agricultural development projects in Africa
- Knowledge of regenerative agriculture practices and seed systems in Africa
- Experience with participatory approaches to community engagement and capacity building
- Strong analytical and research skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel and R
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
- Proficiency in English is required, proficiency in French is preferred
Tools:
- Microsoft Excel for data analysis and modeling
- ArcGIS and QGIS for mapping and spatial analysis is a plus
- KoboCollect and ODK for data collection in the field is a plus
Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in management or development consulting, particularly in the areas of strategy and in-country implementation. Candidates with this experience are encouraged to highlight this in their application and demonstrate how their skills and experience are relevant to the role
