Barakat is an Associate at Dev-Afrique with experience in project management, social development, and GIS. She worked as a Research Assistant on Gender Analysis for the National Net Social Safety Net Program (NNSSNP) in Nigeria. In addition to her work at NNSSNP, she has worked with Connected Development, Kaduna State Power Supply Company, Hult Prize Foundation, and the United Bank for Africa.
Barakat is pursuing her master’s degree programme in Architecture and Planning at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She holds a bachelor’s degree in urban and regional planning from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria.
She speaks English, Yoruba and Hausa fluently.
