From a policy / public affairs perspective, Dev-Afrique provides clients with a range of services, including policy tracking and analysis, advocacy, stakeholder management, regulatory compliance, regulatory disputes resolution and strategic events management.

About the Position

We seek an early-stage career person interested in policy, governance, research and strategy, to help us continue our growth and provide unique perspectives on projects that we manage. The role will involve policy tracking, research, strategy development and consultations with a wide range of stakeholders (including government officials) on a wide range of policy projects.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, report and obtain policy documents (i.e. laws, regulations, standards, guidelines, circulars, directions, etc.) across the African continent.
  • Conduct research and analysis on policy, political and governance-related issues that could affect our clients in Nigeria and Africa.
  • Review and evaluate policy documents, to determine benefits of and / or concerns with the policy, and proffer suggestions to improve the policy.
  • Infer and present research findings in clear and concise reports, briefs, and other formats.
  • Work with our expert team to plan and implement projects in Nigeria and across Africa.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders and maintain industry awareness

Requirements

  • Minimum of undergraduate degree in law, policy, statistics, political science and other related field
  • Minimum of two years’ experience
  • Experience working with regulators / government agencies, non-governmental organisations, or other policy-related stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Familiarity with research and analysis tools, as well as computer software programs (spreadsheets, word processors, databases, and statistical packages).

Position will require travel within Nigeria and occasional travel within Africa.
