About the Position 

Dev-Afrique is recruiting a full-time Human Resource Manager who will play a crucial role in managing the people operations and human capital development functions. The HR Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and programs to support the organization’s mission and objectives. They will oversee recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits, and other HR initiatives. 

While this work will be variable, some of the responsibilities for this position include:  

  • In conjunction with the company’s corporate planning & strategy, coordinate, monitor and provide human resources strategies on behalf of the company. 
  • Participate in identifying and designing initiatives to enable the achievement of departmental plans. This includes plans to effectively cascade initiatives to the lowest levels while ensuring the standardization of approaches. 
  • Lead performance management processes, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and career development planning. 
  • Actively support the implementation and coordination of performance management processes. 
  • Develop relevant HR policies and procedures and provide updates to existing policies where applicable. 
  • Work closely with various departments, assisting line managers in understanding and implementing policies and procedures. 
  • Administer compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with legal requirements. 
  • Manage employee relations, including resolving conflicts, addressing grievances, and ensuring a positive work environment. 
  • Coordinate all entry-level to senior management-level recruitments and maintain a talent pipeline for all roles. 
  • Coordinate all talent development activities to enhance the overall competencies of employees. 
  • Coordinate the implementation of the employee file audit framework. 
  • Oversee the coordination of employee welfare-related matters such as leave requests (applications, tracking system and allowance processing) and HMO matters. 
  • Coordinate regular departmental/company meetings. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 
  • 6-10 years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on people operations and human capital development. 
  • Professional qualification in related fields would be an added advantage. 
  • Must possess advisory/consulting work experience.  
  • Good understanding of HR regulations, practises and procedures within and across industries. 
  • Must possess the ability to prioritise, plan and organise work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Must be able to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision. 
  • Good time management and interpersonal skills. 
  • Proven organisational and personal effectiveness skills. 
  • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written) at all levels within an organisation. 
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills. 
  • Must possess strong attention to detail. 
  • Must possess the ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with co-workers, staff and external contacts, and to work effectively in a professional team environment. 
  • Good proficiency in the use of office productivity tools. 
  • Good use of initiative, high sense of ethics, professionalism and diplomacy. 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision. 
  • Must be professional with a proactive approach to work.
