About the Position
Dev-Afrique is recruiting a full-time UI/UX designer who is passionate about development issues in Africa and excited to work at the intersection of development, industry, and governance. A successful candidate will be one who is able to multitask, collaborate, and communicate expertly with diverse internal and external stakeholders. In this role, you will be pivotal in crafting exceptional user experiences across a variety of complex projects, working closely with developers, product/project managers, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate should excel at transforming concepts into refined, high-fidelity mockups that effectively meet both business objectives and user needs.
While responsibilities may vary, some key duties for this position include:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, to define and implement innovative design solutions aligned with business goals.
- Conduct user research and analyze findings to understand user needs, motivations, and pain points, integrating these insights into the design process.
- Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and high-fidelity mockups to illustrate design ideas and user journey concepts.
- Develop interactive prototypes to test and refine user interfaces, ensuring ease of use and alignment with project requirements.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless handoff of design specifications and support the implementation of user-friendly interfaces.
- Proactively contribute to brainstorming and ideation sessions, championing a user-centered design approach throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in French is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2+ years as a UI/UX Designer, Product Designer, or similar role.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or any related/relevant field
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools.
- Deep understanding of user centered design (UCD) principles and the ability to apply them to create intuitive, user-friendly interfaces.
- Meticulous attention to detail in creating pixel-perfect designs that align with brand and user requirements.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
