Job Summary
We seek individuals interested in working at the intersection/nexus of consulting and impact for six (6) months. The ideal candidate will work on projects that aim to solve development issues in Africa with a focus on GIS/Geospatial projects. They will collaborate with our expert teams to develop and implement evidence-based solutions and recommendations that address our clients’ needs and deliver impact at the last mile.
- Conduct research and analysis on development issues that affect our clients in Nigeria and Africa.
- Infer and present research findings in clear and concise reports, briefs, and other formats.
- Work with our expert team to plan and implement projects in Nigeria and across Africa.
- Pick and execute a high-level project in an area of interest.
Requirements
- This is a six (6) month fellowship program and participants are expected to contribute 80 hours a month.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Minimum three years cognate experience working with GIS software (ArcGIS/QGIS preferred)
- Strong understanding of geospatial concepts and analytical methods.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with research and analysis tools, such as Excel, Power BI, or GIS (Geographic Information System)
- Experience working in the development sector, specifically with healthcare, agriculture, or energy, would be a plus.
- Experience working with government agencies, NGOs (Non-governmental Organizations), or other development stakeholders in Africa
