Fellowship Overview

Dev-Afrique is offering experienced fellowship opportunities for professionals in Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) and Development Consulting. The fellowship is designed for mid-career professionals seeking to apply their expertise to real-world development challenges while strengthening Dev-Afrique’s footprint in Zambia and Senegal.

Programme Structure

  • Duration: 6 months (with potential extension or transition opportunities)
  • Engagement: Hybrid (country-based with regional collaboration)
  • Time Commitment: 80 hours minimum commitment/per month (aligned with project demands)

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks, including logframes and theories of change
  • Support impact evaluations and learning agendas, including quantitative and qualitative methods
  • Lead or contribute to data collection, analysis, and validation processes
  • Translate complex datasets into clear insights, reports, and presentations for clients
  • Support development of dashboards and data visualization tools
  • Contribute to evidence generation and knowledge products
  • Strengthen data systems and MEL processes for client and internal programs
  • Conduct research and analysis on development issues across Africa
  • Support the development of strategies, concept notes, and proposals. Contribute to project implementation and delivery across sectors 
  • Develop high-quality reports, presentations, and client deliverables Support client engagement and stakeholder coordination
  • Contribute to business development and proposal writing efforts
  • Participate in cross-functional teams delivering multi-country projects

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Advanced degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Economics, Public Health, International Development, Statistics, or related fields
  • 3+ years experience in M&E, research and development consulting
  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • Designing and implementing M&E systems or evaluations
    • Conducting research, analysis, and report writing, supporting development programs in Sub‑Saharan Africa
  • Strong understanding of development sectors such as: Health, Agriculture, Governance, Environment, or Data Systems
