About:

Barakat is a consultant at Dev-Afrique with experience in social development, monitoring and evaluation, and vaccine data system strengthening. As a consultant, Barakat is responsible for the design, implementation, and delivery of several clients’ projects in West and Central Africa. She led the FCDO’s Vaccine Data Colab project in Nigeria and supported the BMGF GIST team’s health geospatial landscape assessment in Nigeria and the DRC. She has also led several monitoring and evaluation exercises to provide evidence-based findings that shaped multimillion-dollar organizations’ strategies and program design.

Prior to joining Dev-Afrique, Barakat worked with both private and public sector organizations, delivering, and deploying innovative solutions for sustainable project implementation and stakeholder engagement. She has worked on the National Net Social Safety Program in Nigeria and worked with Connected Development, Kaduna State Power Supply Company, Hult Prize Foundation, and the United Bank for Africa.

Barakat has a master’s degree in architecture and planning from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She holds a bachelor’s degree in urban and regional planning from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria.
