About:

John Kposowa is a Consultant at Dev-Afrique Development Advisors and GRID3 In-Country Consultant. He has over eighteen years work experience in GIS, Information Management, and field data collection (both primary and secondary data) in conflict or challenging environments.

He has worked for several organizations in the Private Sector, Government, and International Non-Governmental Organizations, either as a staff, an INUNV or as a consultant. The organizations include the National Statistics Office (Sierra Leone), National Electoral Commission (Sierra Leone), CEMMATS Group Ltd, UNFPA (Southern Sudan), UNOCHA (Sierra Leone), International Organization for Migration (Sierra Leone), and UNICEF (Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh). He has also served on temporary assignments with International Organization for Migration in Ghana and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

He holds a master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom; and a bachelor’s degree in Geography from the Njala University College, Sierra Leone. He also holds a certificate in ‘Geo-Information Infrastructure and Core Data Providers’ from the University of Twente’s International Institute for Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), Enschede, Netherlands.
