About:

Saheed Saliu is a consultant at Dev-Afrique Development Advisors and leads the geospatial practice for the African continent. With extensive experience in managing and manipulating geospatial data, acquiring GIS data, designing maps, measurement, and evaluation, and managing land use, Saheed is an expert in geospatial data management and analysis, physical planning policymaking, and land use planning and management.

Before joining the Dev-Afrique team, he worked at NewGlobe Education as a member of the development team for Nigeria and served as a physical planning professional. His astute contributions and advisory on physical planning requirements and documentation for citing schools contributed to the company’s sporadic geographic spread across Nigeria. Applying his geospatial skills for problem-solving, he developed an interactive map that significantly aided the procurement team in distributing materials to schools across different regions in Nigeria. Saheed also worked as a Town Planner at the Ogun State Urban and Regional Planning Board and the Sokoto State Urban and Regional Planning Board, where he was involved in public policy formulation and implementation, development control, and improving development tracking and masterplan review using GIS.

Saheed is a certified Town Planner registered with the Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria. He is also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners. He holds a master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems and a bachelor’s degree (with honors) in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Lagos. He is currently based in Lagos, Nigeria.
