NASA Harvest

In collaboration with NASA Harvest and the SwissRe team, this project successfully identified high-value business cases for EO-Farm in Kenya, fostering a shared community understanding of sustainable funding pathways to support the initiative.

NASA Harvest, the client, aimed to enhance the implementation of Earth Observations for Field-Level Agricultural Resource Mapping (EO-Farm) in Kenya. This involved the identification of high-value business cases, fostering a shared community understanding of sustainable funding pathways, and the development of top-notch informational materials for each priority business case.

In collaboration with NASA Harvest and the SwissRe team, we organized an in-country workshop that united stakeholders from the private, public, and academic sectors, specifically focusing on the intersection of agriculture and geospatial technology. The insights gleaned from this workshop played a pivotal role in crafting a comprehensive report, featuring in-depth profiles of three business cases, comprehensive cost benefit analyses, and considerations for different time horizons. These profiles accounted for potential risks, key stakeholders, and investors, while also factoring in external trends affecting EO-Farm.

The project successfully identified high-value business cases for EO-Farm in Kenya, fostering a shared community understanding of sustainable funding pathways to support the initiative. Furthermore, we developed high-quality informational materials, ensuring the effective communication of the value propositions linked to each priority business case. This endeavour has laid a solid foundation for advancing EO-Farm and agricultural resource mapping in the region.
