Dev-Afrique supported the German Development Corporation to evaluate the effectiveness and generate lessons for the potential scale-up of their Circular Lagos Project. The Circular Lagos Project, sponsored by German Development Cooperation (GIZ) through its SEDIN program in Nigeria, sought to boost investment opportunities for MSMEs in Lagos state’s plastic recycling value chain.
The project included various delivery mechanisms such as a podcast, website, hackathon (Circular Lagos challenge), business incubator program (The Loop Lab), and a research fellowship.
Dev-Afrique developed a comprehensive framework with qualitative and quantitative indicators to monitor progress and outcomes, utilizing a mixed-method approach to data analysis. The team also captured analytics data from the website, social media, and podcast to support awareness objectives. As a part of the evaluation, Dev-Afrique produced a success story video spotlighting project beneficiaries and their contributions and provided a comprehensive view of the Circular Lagos Project’s impactful initiatives.
