Lusaka Sanitation System (LSS)
The Lusaka Sanitation System (LSS) is a web-based sanitation Monitoring & Evaluation Management Information System (M&E MIS) that enhances sanitation management in Lusaka, Zambia. Developed under the Lusaka Sanitation Program (LSP)—a multi-donor funded initiative aimed at increasing access to sanitation services and strengthening the capacity of the Lusaka Water Supply and Sanitation Company (LWSC)—the LSS facilitates real-time monitoring and data integration from the Lusaka Water Supply and Sanitation Company (LWSC) and its key partners, the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the Lusaka City Council (LCC).
Key features include automated reporting and performance indicators that support effective decision-making and promote sustainable sanitation practices. The LSS also contains the Geographic Information System (GIS) sanitation database for all sanitation facilities found in Lusaka province. The LSS plays a crucial role in improving public health outcomes in Lusaka through coordinated efforts in sanitation service delivery.
