About:

Marvellous is an Associate at Dev-Afrique Development Advisors, where he supports public health advisory, systems design, development finance, and data-driven consulting. He plays a key role in strengthening public data systems through health registry optimization, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and artificial intelligence advisory, translating complex data-driven insights into strategic outcomes that support development programming, national disease surveillance, and capacity building.

His expertise spans global disease burden estimation, clinical research on HIV/TB, cancer, and AMR; AI readiness for health security registries, and data analytics for development finance evaluations. Prior to joining Dev-Afrique, he supported BMGF-funded programs, providing technical assistance for the digitalization of Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF) gateways and developing a learning model for health workforce and midwifery strengthening at Sydani Group. He has also served as an Independent Consultant supporting the National Commission for Persons with Disability (NCPWD) on capacity-building programs for state desk officers. Giving back to the community, he dedicates time to the Society for Disease Prevention Inc., a US non-profit where he leads CSR projects targeting key populations and training healthcare professionals.

His research and advocacy have earned him multiple international honors, including the International AIDS Society (IAS) 2025 Young Leaders Award in Rwanda, alongside multiple funded travel scholarships to present his work at global health conferences across Australia, Asia, and Africa. He is a fellow of the Aspire Institute, the Millennium Campus Network (MCN), and the Clinton Global Initiative University.

Marvellous is a licensed Medical Laboratory Scientist and holds a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a mini-MBA from Lagos Business School under the Venture in Management Program. He is a Senior Collaborator with the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), with his work contributing to high-impact global health studies accruing over 9,000 citations.
